if you work on the web in any capacity, accessibility is your job.
The book opens up reminding us that we are building sites for our customers and it is the entire team’s responsibility to build accessible experiences. The focus is on the entire team, not just designers and developers.
Highlighting the BBC homepage, the author mentions a handful of roles that contribute to a successful user experience.
Product managers, content strategists, and information architects defined the homepage’s content and structure based on information and goals provided by researchers and executives.
Rather than directly talking about building just for specific assistive technology, the book instead, puts the focus on universal design. The goal here is to focus on how we can build experiences that are better for all users, not just a subset of users.
