Experiments In Generative Art
I used to make things just for fun. Work and normal adult responsibilities have pushed the coding for fun way to the back burner so heading into 2026, I decided to work on some specific professional goals while leaving room for some stuff that is meant to be purely for my own entertainment.
I happened upon the book, Generative Art with JavaScript and SVG and decided this was going to be my "just for the fun of it" item for 2026. Back before I got into coding, I wanted to be a designer. I think I made the right choice. I don't think I would have been as good at design as I have gotten as a developer. All that said, I still want to create art so I figured, "what better way than through code?".
This area is for my experiments in generative art. I'll be starting with the examples in the book as a way to learn the tools, and from there I will branch out. I'll use SVG as a starting point, but nothing is stopping me from playing around in Canvas and WebGL.
